Job Description

Silviculture Intern, Nairn Centre, Ontario

This position requires you to be on-site to perform the job duties and ideally the candidate will start in May 2026 and be available from 4-8 months.

  • Salaries starting from $3,300 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience).
  • Temporary living allowance for interns moving to the area for the role. 

What You’ll Do

When you join our team as a Silviculture Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our Silviculture team on a variety of duties, including assisting with the implementation of silviculture programs on the Pineland and Spanish Forests, monitoring silviculture contractor performance (tree planting, site preparation, aerial tending), and conducting various silvicultural surveys.

What You Offer

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized university or college forestry program.
  • Have a minimum of one field season of experience or an interest in silviculture.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, ArcView GIS, GPS technology.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Physically fit and able to spend considerable time working in a forested environment.
  • Able to work with clients and contractors to produce positive results.
