Department:                               Education

Employment Status:               Contract – 12 Months

Salary:                                          $31.34 – 37.46 /HR – 35 Hours per Week

Location:                                     Naughton, ON

Closing Date:                             October 8, 2025, at 4pm



POSITION SCOPE:

 

Under the direction of the Child and Family Services Manager, the Family Support Worker is responsible to provide support/advocacy to Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. The Family Support Worker will work collaboratively with Band Representative Team and with internal & external resources to provide support and assist families in striving to reach their goals to create positive change.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • University Degree in the Social Services field of study preferred
  • Diploma in the Social Services field of study required
  • Life Skills Coaching Certificate an asset
  • Two (2) years’ direct experience working with children and families preferably in an Anishnawbek organization

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Family Support and Advocacy
  • Provide support and assistance to families and provide necessary skills and knowledge to assist in improving their parenting, life skills and mental well-being
  • Work collaboratively with the Band Representative Team, internal and external agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated services for families
  • Participate in case conferences and case reviews
  • Complete administrative functions and adhere to First Nation policies, procedures and relevant practices as well as other mandated policies, procedures and laws
