Job Description

Electrical Technical Lead position:

The Queens VEX U Robotics Team (QVEX) is an award-winning competitive robotics team under the Engineering Society and Alma Mater Society. With over 80 inter-disciplinary members from engineering, commerce, and science, QVEX is the largest and most successful collegiate robotics team in Canada. The team was founded in 2019 to revolutionize engagement in robotics at Queen's, while also developing a globally recognized competitive program.

The objective for the Electrical Technical Lead position is to have members on the electrical team focused on assisting senior members with PCB design, and ideally take less time to onboard then general members. Additionally, the technical leads should be able to assist and support inexperienced members if needed. 

As an Electrical Technical Lead you will:

  • Partake in circuit and PCB design
  • Complete projects individually
  • Assist the Director of Electrical or other members
  • Support inexperienced team members
  • Be able to meet 2-3 times a week for 2-hour sessions

Out of the Electrical Technical Lead role, you can expect to gain:

What we are looking for:

  • Someone interested in PCB design, preferably with experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership skills
  • Able to handle time commitment
  • Preferably someone who is familiar will concepts covered in 2nd year+ ECE courses
