The Equity Committee Chair(s) are responsible for overseeing a team of 6-8 individuals and works closely with the Director of Equity and Advocacy. The Equity Chair(s) act as advocates for equitable practices throughout the Engineering Society for the benefit of the entire student body.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Execution: Lead a team in planning, organizing, and executing EngSoc-Equity events and activities. Coordinate logistics, communication, and implementation to ensure successful events.
- Collaborate on Impactful Projects: Work alongside directors and guide team members on key projects that align with the EDII-AS goals of the Engineering Society. Contribute ideas and support initiatives that make a positive impact on the community.
- Lead Weekly Meetings: Lead regular strategic meetings to provide input on improving past, current, and future events; discuss ongoing initiatives; and share new information.
- Engage with the AMS Social Issues Commission: Attend the Equity Caucuses held monthly, giving opportunities for large discussion and the exchange of ideas to better inform students about equity deserving groups and events, and better run sessions so promote the importance of EDII within the Queen's Community.
