Role description:

We are seeking an Intermediate Healthcare Interior Designer to join our team, contributing to and supporting the development of innovative design solutions for large-scale healthcare and corporate projects. This role involves working independently on smaller tasks and collaborating on larger projects within the Workplace and Healthcare practices.

Role accountabilities:

  • Assist in the development of interior designs for healthcare projects, utilizing a combination of standard procedures and innovative approaches.
  • Prepare and present interior design concepts during User Group Meetings.
  • Work within established project management plans, applying design tools to create technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Participate in space planning, design development, and project management activities.
  • Coordinate colour and material palettes, manage finish schedules, update design documents, and produce renderings.
  • Assist in contract administration, including preparing documentation on-site.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support design solutions while staying informed on new products and industry best practices.
  • Be able to effectively multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Exercise independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design techniques, making minor adaptations as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Working toward or beginning registration with a respective regulatory body.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry standards and best practices, including CSA Z8000 and accessibility standards such as Code Plus and CSA B651.
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, Enscape, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bluebeam, Miro and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong research, data gathering, and analytic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Experience with interior finish materials and furniture systems.

The salary range for this position is $66,000-$99,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
