Reporting to Sr. Manager, Corporate Investigations, the successful candidate will have educational experience in criminology including fraud, theft and employee misconduct. Candidate must be a team player, skilled in balancing multiple priorities concurrently and working under time constraints. Written and communications skills will be excellent, ensuring that detailed reports of investigative activities are completed in a timely manner for submission to Management. The candidate will be responsible for liaising with Law Enforcement on criminal investigations, threat assessments and other criminal investigation support, including being a point of contact with local law enforcement agencies.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct a variety of internal confidential investigations related to fraud, theft, privacy, using established investigative procedures.
- Assist in preparing investigative summaries, case files and evidence packages for law enforcement referrals.
- Coordinate communication between internal investigators and police agencies.
- Track and follow up on active law enforcement referrals to ensure timely updates.
- Support investigators during evidence collection, documentation, and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Conduct covert investigations to identify threat actors or other malicious perpetrators.
- Retrieve and analyze large volumes of complex data in relation to potential unethical conduct and/or criminal offences.
- Conduct multiple concurrent investigations on a priority basis while working with aggressive timelines.
- Conduct threat assessments in real time to ensure Rogers’ personnel, assets and customers are protected.
- Manage documentation and ensure investigative findings are updated in the case management tool.
- Develop effective interview skills.
- Liaise and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Support in preparing court briefs of evidence and participating in legal proceedings on behalf of Rogers as required.
- Participate in regular on-call rotation.
What you'll bring:
- Post-secondary education (in Criminology, law enforcement or related discipline) is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and handle pressure.
Requirements
- The successful candidate will undergo a background check.
- The position is based in Toronto and some travel within Canada may be required.
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
