Short Summary
Processing all invoices related to CN Tower business purchases. The purpose of this role is to ensure all invoices received have been approved in accordance to Delegation of Authority (DOA) and only with appropriate approval will the invoice be processed in the Accounting system and prepared for payment. Timely and accurate payment to CN Tower vendors is critical to ensuring business operates without interruptions.
Job Description
Receive invoices arriving by postal or email and digitally forward to corresponding department for review and approval
Verify all invoices for arithmetical accuracy, compliance to contracts.
Ensure invoices are approved and signed according to the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
Enter all approved invoices into Accounting system ensuring correct method is deployed,
Prepare invoice batches for approval and posting.
Follow up on goods returned for credit note.
Reconcile vendor statement for any outstanding invoices.
Weekly Payment Processing
Prepare weekly payment run and match invoices to payment stubs for signatures.
Check off signed payment from payment register before filing.
Email remittance slips for companies paid electronically.
File paid invoices.
Month End Preparation
Ensure invoices are entered up to a cut-off date as determined by Associate Manager, Accounts Payable and Revenue Management.
Ensure all batches entered are cleared in the Accounting system.
Run Accounts Payable summary report and balances to GL
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, Finance or Accounting required.
A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in an accounting environment required.
Enrollment in a professional accounting designation program (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) preferred.
Experience with JD Edwards is an asset.
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
Must possess excellent accounting skills to ensure accuracy
