Job Summary
The Senior Director, Delivery & Cost Management will be responsible for shaping Optimum’s data vision, driving the execution of data transformation initiatives and ensuring delivery excellence across the organization. Reporting into the Business Transformation Office, this role will lead the development of a forward-looking data roadmap, manage a portfolio of transformation initiatives and build a scalable internal delivery organization. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep experience in transformation, portfolio management, complex program delivery and enable the portfolio to build and scale.
Responsibilities
- Implement and enhance program management methodologies and agile ways of working, promoting learning to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage an integrated portfolio roadmap, including coordination with cross-functional teams across Optimum.
- Facilitate portfolio planning events, initiative prioritization and sequencing and identification of key dependencies.
- Manage the end-to-end execution for strategic initiatives to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain transparent communication on status of initiatives and progress against roadmap.
- Proactively manage and escalate risks, issues, impediments and dependencies, driving to resolution to enable execution at pace.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including C-level executives.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms, verbal and written, to both a senior executive audience and program delivery teams.
- Strength in collaborating and partnering with business/functional stakeholders, data scientists, data engineers, architects, and vendor SMEs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
- Experience leading vendor selections and managing vendors to achieve KPIs.
- Experience in setting portfolio budgets, acquiring funding approval including business case creatin and managing forecasts.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in program management and delivery roles, with a strong track record in strategy enablement, large-scale transformation and complex program delivery.
- A relevant university degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in building internal delivery capabilities including standing up transformational program structures.
- Strong background in portfolio and performance management, with experience implementing KPIs, OKRs and governance frameworks to ensure that initiatives deliver against desired business outcomes.
