Overview

Kinectrics is building its Medical Isotopes portfolio, which is to span the supply chain from stable isotope production to cGMP radioisotope and drug product manufacturing.

 

Kinectrics is seeking process engineer/scientist to support our expanding medical isotope program that will help us meet the global demands for the next generation of medical isotopes. This position will aid in establishing Kinectrics as a leader in uninterrupted supply of high-quality isotopes that will be used in life-saving medications for patients worldwide.

 

 

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

  • Monitor production processes, collect production data, analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance operational performance.
  • Responsible for smooth functioning of production lines, developing new techniques, initiating design modifications, and initiating and leading process improvement initiatives/projects.
  • Work independently and as part of the production team to drive and lead the evaluation of workflows, identification of bottlenecks, and implementation of innovative solutions to improve productivity and quality.
  • Identify, assist and give direction on the optimization and improved efficiency of the medical isotopes production process.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of issues that arise during production, such as equipment malfunctions or quality defects with the support of the technical and production team.
  • Select and maintain appropriate equipment for production, and ensure it meets performance and safety requirements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles, conduct process audits, and develop/maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Report to senior management and key stakeholders on production efficiency, costs, quality, inventory, etc.
  • Perform all work in accordance with and in compliance with Kinectrics’ policies, procedures and standards, and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

What You Need to Succeed:

 

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical/I&C, and/or Engineering Physics.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience or equivalent combined academic and practical experience in ion implantation and/or experimental physics in plasma technology, ion sources, or ion beam transport is an asset.
  • Excellent experience in the areas of operations, mechanical and electrical systems, interface with computer applications, maintenance and/or troubleshoot of complex equipment and processes.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/operations environment and compliance with all applicable safety protocols, procedures, standards, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements..
  • Excellent and demonstrated ability to work effectively, lead investigations and interface with multiple team members to solve complex problems.
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems, ion sources, laser systems, and/or accelerator systems is an asset.
  • Flexibility to perform work over a wide range of areas for both operating and new facilities.
  • Proven ability in developing standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Proven ability to utilize computer software programs for data management.
  • High commitment to quality. Excellent knowledge of Quality Assurance principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal (technical and non-technical) communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions.
  • Ability to provide value-added solutions and to consistently deliver projects ahead of schedule and under budget.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing/operations environment and must comply with all applicable safety protocols, procedures, standards, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a valid nuclear site security clearance.
  • Eligibility for a Professional Engineer designation is an asset.
