Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the IB Collections in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountable for supporting data development, coding, analysis, design and implementation activities including:

Determine operational objectives by studying collections business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats

Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications

Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
-
Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures

Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget

Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions

Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
-
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models
-
Interpret, evaluate and interrelate data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making

Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports

Review a variety of areas including operations, purchasing, inventory, distribution and facilities
-
Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
-
Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes

Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement

Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
-
Works with key stakeholders within business functions to align MIS, Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions with business strategies

Gathers requirements from collections business units and translates those to programmers and developers
-
Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system or solutions implementation

Demonstrates an informed knowledge of collections business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities

Supports one or more highly complex data business processes

Project management skills to handle diverse projects, often simultaneously to meet tight deadlines

Ability to solve technical problems/ processes and understand complex details

Ability to increase operating efficiency with produce high quality technical solutions

A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level

Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions

Understand current processes, data models, production jobs and documentation.

Develop and document business requirements with different stakeholders

Liaise with different users to facilitate the development of the business requirements into solutions

Identify current and future needs and develop business plans and strategies for implementation.

Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all data processes meet business needs

Write and complement current technical documentation that will allow to improve the contents follow-up and the evolution of the data models, data insights and systems.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.

MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
-
5+ years experience required
-
Knowledge of SQL programming languages in order to comprehend reading code and Stored Procedures
-
Ability to create business solutions that increase competitive advantage
-
Knowledge of Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) databases and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases
-
Knowledge of analysis and designs of ETL (Extract, transform, load), components to load data from disparate source systems using SQL Server and Microsoft BI tools
-
Skilled in Power BI, Tableau
-
Strong problem solving, learning agility, and logical thinking skills
-
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Spanish
-
Writing skills in documenting user requirements and liaise well with counter-parts or divisions to address the matter at hand.

Business acumen and organizational awareness

Knowledge of Big data is a plus
