     Job Summary

Hands on position which deals with assisting the management of the Front Office and Housekeeping, ensuring all guest needs are met or exceeded.  Maintains quality and consistency throughout all guest service aspects and ensures all of the staff are qualified and trained appropriately.

The Salary Range for the position will be CA$ 52,000 - 54,600

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year hotel experience
  • Post-secondary degree in hospitality or Tourism
  • Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding guest service.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and provincial labor law.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of guests, employees and management.
  • Excellent organizational, computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a collective bargaining agreement

 

Daily Tasks:

  • Assists with scheduling and overseeing as manager on duty when required.  Ensuring standards are maintained in the shift they work.
  • Assists in supporting and enforcing all corporate operating policies and procedures.
  • Supervises staff, assists in on-boarding and orientation of new employees, helps in preparing schedules, mediates staff disputes, trains and develops staff, and helps in administrating disciplinary action.
  • Helps in setting short and long-term departmental goals and develops strategies to achieve them.
  • Providing the following shift with a complete, accurate and up to date logbook of the daily activities and follow up on recorded notations as required and conducts daily briefings.
  • Responding to individual guest needs and departmental needs as they occur.
  • Meets with guests to resolve complaints and respond to requests.
  • Assists in controlling the issuance of supplies and material.
  • Ensures that health, safety and fire procedures and regulations are followed.
  • Assists in the communication of all loyalty program information and guest comment scores to all other departments.
  • Liaises with other departments, ensuring communication and the coordination of activities.
  • Assists in completing, checking, authorizing, and submitting of payroll information.
  • Assists in monitoring daily labor costs.

     

  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the management
