Job Summary:
The Maintenance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility by scheduling, tracking, and supporting maintenance activities. This position coordinates between maintenance technicians, production teams, and external vendors to minimize equipment downtime and support operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance for production equipment and facility systems.
- Receive, review, and assign work orders to appropriate maintenance personnel using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance needs, identifying recurring issues and assisting in root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize disruptions to operations during maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, equipment history, and compliance documentation.
- Track and manage spare parts inventory; coordinate procurement with purchasing to avoid delays or shortages.
- Ensure maintenance procedures follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Assist in preparing maintenance budgets, cost tracking, and contractor/vendor invoices.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
- Facilitate training and communication between maintenance staff and other departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in maintenance, industrial engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a maintenance support role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, mechanical systems, and maintenance workflows.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Must be Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a production environment, including standing, walking, and exposure to machinery and industrial noise.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on plant requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or reliability-centered maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in an industrial setting.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification or other relevant safety training.
