Job Description

Food Safety Role & Responsibility:

As an individual, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the

required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an

acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training

requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, Food Safety

Plan, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food

Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Some additional items will include: Release of Maintained Food Contact Equipment, Tagging

Equipment for Decontamination, Cutting Blade Inspection, Preventive Maintenance Laser Sorter,

Lubricants and Equipment Oil Procedure, Preventive Maintenance Metal Detectors Unit, Daily and

Weekly PM Prominent Tasks, Prominent System pH Probe Verification, Prominent System

Chlorine Probe Verification, Preventive Maintenance and Work Order Procedure, Maintenance

Reactive Repairs, Facility Maintenance Procedure, and Maintenance Utility Cart Cleaning.

 

The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is

needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.

Monday-Saturday 6am-3:30pm or 7am-4:30pm

Summary:

The incumbent will oversee and coordinate all repairs, replacements and modifications of

processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency.

 

Job Function Statements – Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to Process Improvement (PI) projects and participate on safety teams
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities
  • Maintain Preventive Maintenance program
  • Properly communicate with Production and Maintenance Departments
  • Keep good records of KPI and Goals
  • Keep track of Work Orders and re-route them properly
  • Work closely with Inventory stock operation
  • Maintain Data for equipment
  • Lead Improvement projects
  • Manage PM cycle and update if necessary
  • Plan and coordinate parts availability for planned WO's with Inventory stock room
  • Monitor the entire maintenance process and improve as needed
  • Assist other sides and share best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

 

Physical Requirements: The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time (duration

of the shift, 8 hours or more); walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel;

crouch; bend continuously; or crawl. The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders or

step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift; and is occasionally required to sit. The

employee must be able to push/pull/lift and/or move 50 pounds. The incumbent must operate light

motorized equipment, hand and power tools skillfully and safely.

 

Work Environment: The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/cold conditions of 34 – 36

degrees and also at times hot conditions; high, precarious places (ex: 25 feet above ground level

for extended hours); and outside weather conditions (rooftop). The noise level in the work

environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud, which may require hearing protection.

 

  • Good electrical and mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance program
  • Required computer skills: MP2, D7i, Access, Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Good leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Inventory stock room operation

 

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Related Bachelor's degree or Maintenance Skills Associates degree
  • Ability to use multi-meter and other measurement instruments
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC controls, such as Allen-Bradley and GE Fanuc
  • Ability to demonstrate proficient fabrication and welding skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic system
  •  Bilingual skills (English/Spanish and/or English/Polish)

 

Experience:

Required 5-10 years' experience in Maintenance field

 

Education/Training:

Minimum of a High School diploma/GED, some Technical School coursework, or Mechanical

Certification (must have at least one of these three items to be considered)
