Description

Cope Plastics, Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Alton, IL. This position is for the 1st shift

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for installation and repair of machines (predominantly CNC) in the fabrication facilities. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and will be expected to maintain a timely schedule as well as address emergency maintenance needs.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Self-motivated and a hard worker
  • Knowledgeable in various maintenance topics including but not limited to electricity, plumbing, mechanics, hydraulics, HVAC, pumps, etc.
  • Willing to travel for brief periods of time
  • Familiarity with CNC machines
  • 3 Phase experience

Essential Functions:

1. Maintains and repairs machinery by using Preventative Maintenance work orders, daily check lists and calls for immediate repairs. This includes all Cope facilities

2. Troubleshoots, inspects and diagnoses problems and corrects as necessary

3. Installs new power requirements for machinery and replaces broken power receptacles

4. Builds new storage racks for corporate location and all branches

5. Possess the working knowledge of mechanical/electrical machine practices with the ability to read parts manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides

6. Knowledge of machine design and operation and a familiarity with operating and setting up CNC equipment and assist with installation of new machinery

7. Records maintenance and repair work performed

 

Qualifications


Education: Requires a high school education or GED plus additional specialized training in electrical and welding trades. 2 years of Vocational/Technical School preferred

Experience: Requires a minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in machinery maintenance, electricity and plumbing
