Job Description
Mantech is seeking a highly talented, customer-oriented Manufacturing Reuse / Refurbishment Verification (MARRV) Manufacturing or Quality Engineer to join our El Segundo, CA team assisting the US Space Force (USSF) in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of launch vehicles, specifically the Falcon family used for National Security Space Launch (NSSL) missions.  This position supports the Space Force, Space Systems Command (SSC), Assured Access To Space (AATS) Directorate (SSC/AATS) executing the NSSL program, and specifically assessing the design, production, and flight worthiness of SpaceX Falcon vehicles for NSS satellite mission launch services.     Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Execute MARRV project engineering tasks independently while interfacing with a multidisciplinary team of contractors, vendors, FFRDC personnel, and Space Force representatives. Evaluate and ensure LSP contract compliance by assessing design, production, and flight worthiness of launch vehicles; recommend and coordinate corrective actions with LSP senior personnel. Develop and implement product and process assessment plans to evaluate manufacturing health, qualification, and flight readiness, including onsite production and maintenance assessments. Analyze trend data and generate metrics using Excel to inform program managers and the Space Force on system performance. Apply NDE and NDT specifications during evaluation of flight materials and major assemblies; review documentation for proper configuration management and change control. Manage engineering data and reporting, including data mining and preparation of assessments and technical briefings for senior leadership. Provide on-call launch campaign support to the Space Force (24/7 availability) as needed for time-sensitive issues. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, quality engineering, or other STEM field. 5+ years of experience in aerospace quality or manufacturing engineering, including familiarity with AS6500 Manufacturing Management and AS9100 Aerospace Quality standards. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira, with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Background in aerospace systems and launch vehicles; experience supporting Space Systems Command (SSC), other USG space agencies, or prime contractors. Ability to prepare technical reports and briefings for senior stakeholders, and to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.   Preferred Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / aerospace / electrical or chemical engineering or other STEM fields.    Clearance Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.    Physical Requirements:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.  Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.  Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
