We are looking for a Processing Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Lethbridge, AB.

Reporting to the Site Manager at the Canola Seed Processing Facility, this position is responsible for leading and managing the canola seed treating and packaging operations in Lethbridge. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency and reliability of both personnel and equipment, while prioritizing employee safety, product quality, and staff development.

As a Processing Manager, you create chemistry by...

 

  • Developing and managing the seed treating and packaging plan for the facility, ensuring quality, volume, and deadline targets are met. Overseeing processing activities and staffing to keep operations on schedule.
  • Leading and managing employment relations by overseeing workforce planning, performance management, discipline, coaching, employee development, payroll, recruitment, and related HR initiatives to build and maintain high-performing teams.
  • Incorporating and supporting a yearly seed treating and packaging plan which meets the needs of the market through a coordinated effort across key departments.
  • Assisting in developing and managing the operating budgets for the Lethbridge Canola Seed Processing Facility. Utilizing SAP and controller reports to plan and track OPEX performance to plan for functional areas of responsibility.
  • Assisting with implementing the reliability/maintenance program for the processing equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations that meet required standards and allow production goals to be met.
  • Preparing for Responsible Care® (RC) audits and ensuring findings are being addressed effectively and promptly as defined in the BASF Group EHSQ Management System.

If you have...

 

  • A Diploma or degree in Technology or Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8 years in a processing plant environment. Experience in seed processing operations is an asset.
  • Minimum of 4 years of people management.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with processing equipment and consequently computer assisted operating and software systems used in manufacturing environments such as Wonderware or Siemens HMI control systems. Knowledge of PLC platforms is considered an asset.
  • Experience with product processing, product manufacturing and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability and skills in place to provide leadership, coaching and feedback to direct reports and plant operating personnel.
  • Basic knowledge in applying Inventory Management Systems to production processes.
  • Ability to partner with internal stakeholders and external resources to achieve results.
  • Able to focus on employee development and performance management of processing employees.
