Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Know, understand and consistently adhere to established safety policy and procedures. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes or additions to safety procedures and assists in safety training activities as required.</li><li>Work in parallel with team members and test engineers to build/monitor the automotive and mechanical test(s) in assigned area and record all pertinent data.</li><li>Ensure that all pertinent information is routinely communicated to the appropriate (i.e., internal customers, team members, supervisors, etc.) parties.</li><li>Carry out standard preventive maintenance as scheduled and complete proper documentation. Determine layout and maintain maintenance and test cell calibration schedule, if applicable.</li><li>Support respective SBU’s in meeting test demands and area responsibilities, not only during standard working hours but after hours as needed to support 24-hour operations, ensuring continuity of workflow.</li><li>Participate in and assist with the continuing personal and group/area training process. May provide training/orientation to new employees.</li><li>Participate in internal staff meetings, committees and task force efforts as required. Complete special projects and team and customer evaluations in a timely manner.</li><li>Assure that complete ISO documentation is maintained on all ISO or quality related activities. Write needed procedures, participate in ISO related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the ISO function.</li><li>Ability to utilize data reduction software/techniques, implement basic mechanical design capabilities, and understanding of electronics/instrumentation/calibration theory.</li></ul>

Responsibilities:

Engages with assigned teams and cross-functional stakeholders, such as business, process, marketing, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain accurate, up-to-date lab notebooks in accordance with established procedures. Ensure objectivity and accuracy in reporting and recording data. May direct/supervise the activities of or other team members as appropriate.    </li></ul><ul><li>Understand, comply, and promote safe laboratory and work practices, including appropriate safety regulations and procedures. </li></ul><ul><li>Assure that complete documentation is maintained on ISO or Quality System related activities. Participate in Quality System related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Quality System functions & responsibilities. </li></ul><ul><li>Represent Afton in technical conferences, societies and other industry activities. Maintain adequate level of technical expertise and self-development through study, seminars, etc.  Stay informed of advanced developments inside and outside of Afton.</li></ul>

Qualifications:

Sr. R&D Chemist - Industrial

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; at least 5 years in R&D with chemistry/engineering principles.

Overview:
Maintain or assist in maintaining existing sales for assigned account assignments and assist in development of new sales by establishing and coordinating sales leads as directed within the required SBUs. Typically responsible for $1-$5 MM GP in Australia & New Zealand.

Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare for and conduct customer sales calls. Complete accurate sales call reports to help keep all stakeholders informed of the status of key accounts. 2. Assist with preparation of a strategic sales plan that communicates to the organization key personnel, sales goals, and account segmentation. Negotiating consensus and agreement to the plan with sales management and the business group as directed. Analyze and recommend updates of the strategies and tactics of this plan yearly. 3. Develop key contact with strategic decision makers to include technical, purchasing, and marketing on assigned accounts and promote the sale of Afton products by utilizing Passion For Solutions Sales (Counselor Sales) and Challenger Sales Techniques. 4. Prepare administrative reports and submit sales forecasts/draft AOP/expense budgets, price approvals, no-waiver specs, etc. to Sales Director/Sale Management as directed. Develop accurate territorial product forecasts to aid development of AOP supply planning and submit new opportunities into Opportunity Management tool. Prepare and submit a monthly report on territorial highlights, industry activities and competitive activities in account territories. 5. Answer customer requests for information and manage activities required to solve customer problems (utilizing the ReSolv system) keeping the manager advised of activities. Provide price quotes and communicate price changes to all customers as directed. 6. Participate in the Stage Gate Process to develop internal justification and support for key customer projects. Take the lead on controlling two way communications of these projects with customer and Afton stakeholders. 7. Participate on internal cross-functional teams in support of business objectives. 8. Stay abreast of industry insights and technology changes by attending approved industry meetings, participating in internal webinars and training courses, and making consistent interactions with CTS, marketing and the OEM groups.
