Position Summary


Pima Community College District Office lies in the center of Tucson and serves as the administration buildings for the College.  Working at the District Office provides a unique opportunity to learn about the College as a system.  There are multiple departments that hire from this position pool including but not limited to: Human Resources, Academic Quality Improvement, and Financial Aid.

Position Title: Administrative Assistant

Salary: $16.50 / hour

Eligibility: In order to be eligible to apply for this position, you MUST be eligible for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and be a current Pima Community College student. Students can complete the FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov.

About the Role

Working at the District Office offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at how a large college system operates. This is a pooled position, meaning one application puts you in front of multiple departments looking for talent.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Departmental Support: Provide high-level clerical assistance to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Communication: Greet students, staff, and the public; provide accurate information regarding College services and policies.

  • Project Coordination: Assist with special projects, including creating marketing materials (social media, flyers) and event coordination.

  • Information Management: Perform data entry, maintain digital and physical filing systems, and manage calendars/scheduling.

  • Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all College standards and ethical guidelines.

  • Other Duties as assigned


Job Requirements/Qualifications


  • Communication: Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

  • Organization: Strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and modern web browsers.

  • Interpersonal Skills: A positive, cooperative attitude with a commitment to diverse campus interactions.

  • Physical Ability: Occasionally lift or move office supplies up to 25 lbs.
