Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer is expected to support software developer’s database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and to ensure that optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. 


 RESPONSABILITIES: 

1. Taking part in the tailoring and improvement of standard methodologies. 

2. Developing, constructing, testing and maintaining data architectures. 

3. Aligning data architecture with business requirements 

4. Developing data algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise, while also keeping an eye out for trends or inconsistencies that will impact business goals. 

5. Taking part in data Design of the elements of any complexity, performing (and/or leading) design related researches and prototypes, making decisions on data design solutions. Documenting design solutions using diagrams where required. Presenting design solutions to the team and customers. 

6. Understanding company’s or client’s objectives to align with their business goals when working with data, especially for companies that handle large and complex datasets and databases 

7. Communicating data trends to help businesses make use of the data they collect. 

8. Building and optimizing the systems that allow data scientist and analysts to perform their work. Ensuring data is properly received, transformed, stored, and made accessible to other users. 

9. Preparing activity and progress reports regarding the business database status and health, additionally analyzing complex data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships in order to contribute to the conceptual physical and logical data models. 

10. Interacting with the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and other ‘big data’ technologies. 


 Requeriments 

  • University degree, preferably in Computer Science (or equivalent) or relevant certification. Master’s degree is desirable. 
  • EXPERIENCE 4+ years of experience with Data migration and Data integration. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience in data modeling / Data Warehousing solutions using technologies - Microsoft DW tools. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience on data ingestion / ETL (extract, transform, load) using tools like Microsoft SQL Server SSIS 
  • Knowledge and/or experience using SQL based technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience using NoSQL technologies like Redis, MongoDB, CouchBase, Cassandra is a plus 
  • Knowledge and/or experience as a programmer using any of the following languages Power shell, Python, C#, Java. 
  • Ability to define and assemble complex data sets that meet functional/non functional business requirements 
  • Identify domain models and relations between them. 
  • Analytical thinking.
