We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Specialists-Parcel Inspector. The Specialists-Parcel Inspector will be responsible for providing manual inspections for parcels being processed for our 3PL facility. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Specialists-Parcel Inspector you will be responsible for identifying dangerous, hazardous or prohibited goods in parcels and preventing those parcels from being processed for shipment.
During your first six weeks, you will be accompanied by an ambassador, as well as being trained in IATA regulations leading to a Certification.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while maintaining focus on quality
- Visually identifying and recognizing dangerous and prohibited goods
- Ability to load and unload pallets and/or trucks, if needed
- Ability to carefully handle & identify dangerous, hazardous and prohibited goods based on package markings
- Box, wrap and pack merchandise in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.
- Prepare all orders for shipment according to the carrier.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and retain knowledge of standard operating procedures
- Ability to successfully complete on the job training and certification process
- Package inspection skills/experience is a plus
- Basic PC skills are required (i.e., keyboarding skills, basic mouse usage, opening and closing programs and files using MS Windows)
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
Equipment and Technology:
- Ability to work within a laptop/desktop computer
- Handheld Barcode Scanner
- Weight Scales
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- See and identify colors
- Be able to read and comprehend at a high school level (any language)
Preferred Experience or Qualifications:
- Previous job experience in a leadership role (i.e. process assistant, lead, etc.)
- Be able to work independently & in a team environment
- Dangerous Goods/Prohibited Goods experience is a plus
- Ability to stop and ask questions, even when training & certification process has been completed
Safety: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Perform all tasks in a manner which promotes safety in accordance with OSHA standards.
Compensation: $19.50-$22 DOE
