Description

Life Steps Foundation is a California based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which provides home- and community-based services across the life span to children, teens, adults and the elderly. We serve people who have developmental and/or physical disabilities as well as those challenged by substance abuse, premature birth, child abuse/neglect, and social or economic deprivation.

Life Steps Foundation is seeking an Accountant to provide accounting and clerical support to the corporate controller and other staff regarding Life Steps Foundation program operations.

Requirements

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Perform month end and year end closing,
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with External Auditors for annual Independent Audit,
  • Perform accounts analysis quarterly and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare accounting schedules for depreciation, health and workers’ compensation insurances as well as COBRA.
  • Provide information for Workers’ Compensation audit.
  • Record and reconcile incomes and expenses for rental properties.
  • Develop monthly intercompany transactions report.
  • Perform billing and reporting for grants.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements.
  • Monitor transactions on the checking accounts and transfer funds between the checking accounts.
  • Respond to inquiry for financial information.
  • Backup for payroll.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Controller
