Description
The Accountant supports the financial operations of the organization by preparing and maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of accounting information while supporting compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
**This position could be based in Casper or Douglas Wyoming.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
One to three years of accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Experience with accounting software, spreadsheets, and general ledger systems preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Summary
1. Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions accurately and timely.
2. Assists with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
3. Maintains financial records and supporting documentation in an organized and accurate manner.
4. Assists with preparation of financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.
5. Reviews and analyzes account activity to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
6. Supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, or other accounting functions as assigned.
7. Assists with audit preparation by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
8. Ensures compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
9. Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
10. Communicates effectively with internal departments and external parties regarding financial matters.
11. Maintains confidentiality of financial and organizational information at all times.
