Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. Prepare monthly general and standard journal entries, income and balance sheet statements, account reconciliations, and various other accounting statements and reports for PS Data, PS Towers, and PS Wireless.
  2. Review Tower lease agreements, record sales invoices and maintain PS tower’s books on a monthly basis.
  3. Prepare federal, state and other regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with established guidelines; keep informed of governmental regulations and procedures affecting the institution's finance and accounting procedures. (various account numbers)
  4. Prepare and file sales tax returns for PS Data, PS Towers, and PS Wireless.
  5. Reconcile cash – 15 accounts (Public Service Telephones affiliated accounts) (various account numbers) (various account numbers)
  6. Update the CONTINUING PROPERTY RECORDS for Data, Towers, FCTV and Wireless monthly basis. (various account numbers)
  7.  File all necessary payroll related tax documents for Cellular at year end and respond to South Carolina’s annual reporting requirements.
  8. File Property  and Real Property tax returns for Towers, Data, Wireless, FCTV, and Air (various account numbers)
  9. Complete quarterly worksheets for UAF and 499Q information for Data and Cellular.
  10. Close work orders and reconcile assets for all companies on a monthly basis.  (various account numbers)
  11. Assist in taking physical count of inventory at Sept 30 each year and reconcile the physical count to the perpetual count in IVUE.
  12. Assist Controller with all other projects as directed

 Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Write reports in Financial Designer module
  2. Serves as backup for Senior Accountant in daily recording of cash

Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a directly related field.
  2. Proven knowledge in Microsoft Office products
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities at one time and consistently achieve results on a timely basis.
