Job Title: Accounting I and II Instructor, Adjunct
FLSA Status: Exempt, Part-time
Grade: $719 - $909 per credit hour
Department: Arts and Sciences
Reports to: Dean of Arts and Sciences
Job Summary
This position is responsible for teaching Principles of Accounting I (ACCT 2010) and Principles of Accounting II (ACCT 2020). The adjunct instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting student learning, and maintaining a professional, inclusive classroom environment. Courses will be offered face to face or hybrid.

- Plan and deliver instruction aligned with course outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Prepare syllabi, learning materials, assignments, and assessments; maintain accurate grade records.
- Provide timely feedback and communicate clearly with students.
- Hold office hours (virtual and/or in-person) as required.
- Use the learning management system (LMS) and other instructional technologies as applicable.
- Maintain compliance with institutional policies, academic integrity standards, and accessibility requirements.
- Collaborate with department leadership on course coordination, textbooks, and assessment practices.
Minimum Qualifications (Employees of the District are required to possess a minimum proficiency level of English, both written and spoken, that will enable them to communicate safely, effectively, and efficiently with students, co-workers, and the public.)
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the U.S.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a closely related field; or a combination of education and professional experience that meets institutional accreditation and hiring standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial and managerial accounting principles appropriate for introductory college-level courses.
- Ability to teach and support a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior college-level teaching experience (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online).
- Experience using an LMS (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L) and instructional technology tools.
- Professional experience in public accounting and/or industry accounting roles.
