Hiring Full Time Accounting Manager



Schedule: Monday - Friday

Location: Columbia, SC, Hybrid after 90 days, Onsite/Remote



Role and Responsibilities

•  Oversee key property accounting activities including but not limited to review of monthly 

financials and managing the team’s adherence to property accounting checklists and policies

•  Help oversee fee calculations according to property and asset management agreements

•  Help provide accounting training support to new and existing team members related to software, 

policies and technical topics

•  Support internal and external audit activities by coordinating delivery of audit 

requests

•  Drive team initiatives to create and implement process improvements as it relates to property 

accounting

•  Supervise a team of Accounting Specialists

•  Communicate with ownership groups regarding financial performance and monthly reporting (in 

conjunction with property management)

•  Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of property accounting, including month, quarter, 

and year-end close procedures and reporting

•  Assist with preparing annual budgets for Rural Development and Tax

Credit Conventional properties



•  Assist with preparing the audit packages for external auditors on annual audit(s)

•  Contribute to the efforts to develop efficient and effective best practices in critical business 

processes and controls

•  Additional projects, as required



Qualifications and Education Requirements

•  Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

•  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting

•  Supervisory experience preferred

•  Strong organizational and administrative skills

•  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and data management software

•  Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•  Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment



ADDITIONAL NOTES

• Position requires occasional lifting of items no greater than 20 lbs
