Job Description

Job Title:       Accounting Manager
Department:  Finance
Reports To:    Controller
Location:        Open


General Purpose of the Position:


The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-da accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the month-end close processes. This is a hand-on role and requires experience in financial reporting and accounts reconciliations to ensure all balances are accurate and issues are resolved promptly. The position also helps improve processes, supports audits, and guide team members in the Accounting and Accounts Payable team. Strong attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to handle both routine and more complex accounting tasks are essential.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


• Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconciles Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts to the General Ledger and Sub-Ledger
• Prepares Bank Reconciliations
• Manage and lead Month End-End close activities, meeting deadlines
• Prepares and enters journal entries in the general ledger
• Lead the Accounts Payable team including and elaborate KPIs for the department
• Assist with year-end audit, including balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile GL Accounts for month-end and year-end accruals
• Responsible for preparing timely ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for insurance, auditors, and external stakeholders
• Participate and support in clearing data projects involving aged items, ensuring accurate system records
• Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge and Skills Required:


• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s or CPA preferred)
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Strong Knowledge of US GAAP and Financial Reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)

Working Conditions:


• Work Environment: Hybrid Schedule (2 days in office)
• Hours / Shifts: Day Shift
• Salary: 100K-120K/ annually

Physical Demands:


• This position is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, frequently use hands and fingers for typing and operating standard office equipment, and communicate effectively through speaking and hearing.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required, along with the ability to lift and carry light items such as files or office supplies (up to 10–15 pounds). Visual acuity is necessary to read computer screens and printed materials. Reasonable accommodations may be
