Job Description
Monday through Friday/ 20 hours a week/In-person
$15 - $18/hour


The AP Clerk’s role is to ensure accurate and efficient financial records. This position will support the finance department in various accounting functions, focusing on maintaining accurate financial data, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting specific to non-profit accounting standards. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
  • Process invoices and payments, ensuring proper coding and approvals.

General Ledger:
  • Ensure accurate coding of financial transactions.

Audit Support:
  • Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and non-profit accounting standards.

Other Duties:
  • Reconcile credit card statements and retrieve backup.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and primary point of contact.
  • Entering transactions into the positive pay system.
  • Ensure timely and accurate bank deposits.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Additional Requisites: 
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage experience preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Work with moderate noise, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and independent transportation, to be able to travel on behalf of the organization.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Education & Experience: 
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.  High school education and equivalent experience also accepted.
  • Experience with non-profit accounting, and grant management is a plus.
  • Experience with Sage and SAP Concur preferred.
