Grizzly Roofing is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our Accounting Department. The AR Specialist is responsible for managing all accounts receivable functions related to construction projects, including pay applications, lien waivers, job billing, and collections. This role works closely with project managers, business owners, and general contractors to ensure accurate and timely payment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Support
- Prepare and submit construction pay applications (AIA and non-AIA formats)
- Manage progress billing, retainage, and final billing
- Track and process conditional and unconditional lien waivers
- Maintain accurate job cost and AR records by project
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and manage collections professionally
- Communicate with GCs, owners, and PMs regarding billing requirements
- Ensure compliance with contract billing terms and deadlines
- Reconcile AR accounts and assist with month-end close
- Maintain organized digital and physical billing files
- Support audits and documentation requests as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in construction billing (roofing preferred)
- Solid understanding of lien waivers, retainage, and progress billing
- Familiarity with construction contracts and billing schedules
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners
- Proficient in accounting software (Viewpoint, SAP, Foundation, or similar)
- Proficient with Excel / spreadsheets
Preferred
- Experience in commercial roofing or specialty contracting
- Knowledge of Louisiana lien laws and notice requirements
- Experience working with GCs and property managers
- Understanding of job costing and WIP reporting
