Summary Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, execution, and financial performance of complex commercial, industrial, utility, and infrastructure construction projects. This position leads projects from pre-construction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams. This role provides strategic direction for project execution, mentors project management staff, identifies and mitigates project risks, and ensures compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.

Summary Job Description
- Lead multiple construction projects simultaneously from pre-construction through project closeout.
- Conduct and lead pre-construction meetings with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and related documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and procurement strategies.
- Coordinate project activities among field supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and customers.
- Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Manage project closeout activities, warranty administration, and final documentation.
- Maintains ACI Construction’s profitability on assigned projects.
- Abide by and enforces all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Financial Management
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems.
- Monitor project financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Analyze productivity, labor costs, equipment costs, and subcontractor performance.
- Review and approve subcontractor pay applications, purchase orders, and vendor invoices.
- Prepare and manage project cash flow forecasts.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage change orders and claims.
- Maintain accountability for project profitability and gross margin performance.
Contract Administration
- Administer owner contracts and subcontract agreements.
- Review contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
- Verify all required permits, licenses, inspections, and regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Ensure documentation is maintained in accordance with contract requirements.
- Manage correspondence and documentation related to changes, delays, claims, and dispute resolution.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
- Assist with onboarding and development of project management personnel.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with field leadership to optimize staffing, resources, and project execution.
- Participate in project staffing and manpower planning discussions.
Client Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Proactively communicate project status, challenges, and solutions.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all OSHA, company, client, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Support a strong safety culture throughout all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and perform duties in a safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibility
Provides leadership and mentorship to project management personnel while coordinating the efforts of field supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders. Although direct hiring and termination authority may be limited, this position significantly influences project staffing, team development, performance management, and resource allocation decisions.

Required Education and Experience

Travel

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost controls.
- Experience leading project teams and mentoring developing professionals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and construction management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- CPM, PMP, CCM, or similar professional certification.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, utility, and public-sector construction projects.
- Experience with negotiated, design-build, and competitively bid projects.
Travel
Ability and flexibility for occasional travel is expected. Project site visits, client meetings, and company meetings may require local, regional, or overnight travel.
Work Environment
This position operates in both a professional office environment and active construction sites. The role routinely uses computers, mobile devices, office equipment, and project management software.
Field responsibilities may require exposure to varying weather conditions, elevated work areas, confined spaces, construction equipment, noise, dust, and other site-related conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required when visiting project locations.
