Summary
Responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing and implementation of social activities for the residents.
Qualification Requirements
High school graduate or equivalency. One year experience working in gerontology. Previous activities experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Knowledgeable in evaluating residents needs. Must have compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly. Must be fully flexible and able to work weekends. Must be able to drive Company vehicles. A minimum of 12.0 hours annually of continuing education and training pertinent to the population required. Must meet all health regulations, including TB, and pass background checks.
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to exert up to 40 lbs of force occasionally and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or move objects, including the human body. Walking, standing, bending, stooping, and squatting are required frequently.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
1. Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with conducting and planning activities.
2. Assist with leading and conducting a variety of programming.
3. Contributes positive, enthusiastic energy.
4. Promoting resident socialization.
5. Expanding residents’ special interests.
6. Increasing residents’ physical activity and continuing residents’ education.
7. Attends and participates in staff training and in-services. Maintain 12.0 hours of annual continuing education requirement.
8. Other duties as directed.
