About the Department
We are looking for adjunct instructors to teach in-person JumpStart (high school dual enrollment) classes for the Fall 2026 semester (August 10 – December 22). This position will report directly to the Medical Assisting Program coordinator.
Candidates must have availability to teach in-person Monday – Friday 8:00 - 10:30 am. Instruction will not be every day, but dependent on class schedule.
Position Duties
Typical duties of our adjunct instructors may include but aren’t limited to:
- Engage with students to help them learn in both synchronous and asynchronous environments
- Establish high, but achievable standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated
- Create class syllabi to include instructor-specific contact information and course policies and ensure the syllabus meets the Allied Health Department and BRCTC standards.
- Plan and create lectures in class/remote discussions and assignments
- Grade assigned papers, quizzes, and exams
- Assess students’ progress based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
- Report student learning outcomes and analyze student data
- Collaborate with colleagues on course curriculum
- Stay updated on innovations and changes within their course field and within the field of education
- Other duties as assigned to meet the Mission, drive the Vision, and abide by the Core Values of BRCTC.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- HS Diploma required. 1 year certificate or
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution, preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical Assisting or healthcare related field
- Teaching experience preferred
- Experience using technology to teach, Blackboard experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to teach utilizing real-world experience
- Proficiency in oral and written presentation skills, planning, and organizing course objectives.
- Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant academic technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and effective communication
- Demonstrated passion for their academic field and education in general
- Commitment to student engagement, including maintaining consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms to ensure student success.
Licensure and Certification
- Medical Assisting, EMS, RN, LPN, PTA
Other Qualifications

Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.
