Qualifications

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree; qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub-professional experience or paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.

Necessary Special Requirements: Positions within the Department of Human Services may be required to:

  1. Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority;
  2. Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointing authority;
  3. Supply a fingerprint sample prescribed by the TBI based criminal history records clerk.

Positions within the Disability Determinations Section of the Division of Rehabilitation Services within the Department of Human Services will be required to complete a federal background check in accordance with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) for issuance of an HSPD-12 compliant Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card.

Overview

The preferred candidate will be a self-starter, possess good communication skills, and be able to work without constant direct supervision. Ample experience with customer service, strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, and data input, documenting, and records management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Park Manager to lead and train administrative staff, ensuring exceptional customer service at the visitor center, gift shop, and campground.
  2. Serve as the park's HR liaison, overseeing onboarding and offboarding, payroll, time-entry, benefits, policies, and staff training.
  3. Manage daily gift shop operations, including cash handling and bank deposits.
  4. Oversee procurement of supplies and equipment for all park functions, including maintenance, interpretation, and office needs.
  5. Support event planning and execution for park programs and activities.
  6. Assist the Park Manager with project management tasks such as budget development, grant acquisition, reporting, and importantly the extensive park Rebirth Capital project.
  7. Cultivate and share in-depth knowledge of the park and surrounding areas with guests and vendors.
