Job Description

This position provides administrative and project support to the Department of Art & Design. Responsibilities include data entry, project and event coordination, website and social media maintenance, routine and new annual activities monitoring, and a high volume of general support responsibilities, which may include assistance in school-wide functions as necessary when determined by the dean.

This is a part-time, 780 annual hour position, with a schedule of 18 hours per week during the academic year and 5 hours per week during the summer.

Education Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required

Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative support/secretarial experience

Skills, Characteristics Required

Effective communication skills 
• Ability to communicate successfully across departments and with various constituencies, including external contacts 
• Strong organizational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities 
• Strong computer proficiency including the ability to work independently in several of the Higher Education software packages, Excel and various databases as well as understand basic web design 
• Ability to work independently 
• Ability to effectively supervise work study students
