The DRC Administrative Assistant manages efficient office operations by managing reception-related functions, recruiting and supervising student staff, and through other administrative tasks.
The Administrative Assistant works primarily 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday year-round, with some occasional late afternoon or early evening commitments.
The Administrative Assistant also partners with counterparts in the Academic and Career Advising Center, Tutoring Learning Center, and Office of International Education to support the Academic Success suite’s shared-reception operation.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
- Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
- Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
- Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations

The DRC’s primary mission is the facilitation of academic accommodations and the establishment of auxiliary services and supports to ensure equitable access in the classroom, laboratory, studio, and other instructional settings. The DRC is committed to an accessible and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities, grounded in the university’s legal and policy commitments. The DRC serves over 900 eligible students, including the administration of 1,100 exams each semester.
Compensation:
The DRC Administrative Assistant is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, annual (12-month) position.
The starting hourly wage is $19.14.

Required Qualifications:
- Formal experience in customer/client service environments
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing)
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel proficiency
- Articulated ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal experience recruiting, training, and supervising part-time employees/volunteers
Formal experience supporting people with disabilities in educational, rehabilitation, health care, social service, or related settings
Articulated experience with electronic platforms that manage records, scheduling, customer/client relations, and/or other work processes
