Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a multitasking individual with excellent communication skills and a great attitude to complete special projects as requested by the Deputy Warden/Associate Deputy Warden/Administrator.
As an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III you will also research and respond to public inquiries, draft letters for Deputy Warden’s signature, coordinate special events, meetings, and employee recognition at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Tucson/Whetstone Unit.

Job Duties:
- Researches and compile reports, letters, inquiries and policy updates
- Manages unit budget, including purchasing and tracking expenditures
- Tracks disciplinary actions and prepares final outcome documents
- Serves as the timekeeper including gathering, entering time, distributing and filing positive attendance records, ensures the overtime report is completed on a daily basis, and other reports as requested
- Completes projects as assigned
- Coordinates special event fundraisers
- Conducts the Capital Equipment Inventory each quarter for the unit
- Supervises subordinate staff
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Selective Preference(s):
- Working knowledge of computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Three (3) years of responsible administrative experience reporting to a Manager or Administrator
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Retirement:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
