The Administrative Assistant III is responsible for providing financial advocacy for outpatient and families to prevent or lessen financial toxicity. Responsible for early identification of uninsured and underinsured patients to seek financial assistance to prevent revenue loss. Serves as an integral part of the Patient Navigation Team.
Works closely with the following to assist in financial navigation to ease the patient/family burdens:
- Deaconess Financial Services team
- Patient assistance team
- Associate’s degree in a related field, with at least two years’ healthcare experience required
- In lieu of an associate’s degree, three to five years of healthcare, business, or finance experience required
- Complete Financial and Registration training with HRS
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with healthcare providers and patients/caregivers to communicate effectively as a patient advocate preferred
