About the Role

The Admissions Assistant is the first voice many individuals and families hear when they reach out for help. This role plays a vital part in connecting people to life-changing treatment by providing compassionate, professional, and efficient first contact for those seeking Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services. This is a non-clinical intake position focused on gathering information, supporting callers through the first step of treatment, and ensuring a smooth transition to the clinical admissions team. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel on the phone, and bring empathy to difficult conversations, this role offers meaningful, mission-driven work.

 

What You’ll Do

(Please note this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and duties)

* Answer inbound calls, web inquiries, and referrals with professionalism and empathy

* Complete structured, non-clinical intakes and gather demographic, treatment history, and insurance information

* Document interactions in Salesforce and schedule clinical screenings with the Admissions team

* Provide trauma-informed communication and clear next-step guidance to callers and families

* Meet call metrics, ensure accurate data entry, and collaborate with clinical and admissions teams for timely follow-through

* Participate in training and transition to remote work after meeting performance benchmarks

**This role does NOT include:

* Clinical assessments or ASAM determinations

* Counseling or therapeutic services

* CADC or other licensure requirements

 

Remote Work Requirements:

After completing onsite training and demonstrating consistent performance, employees may transition to remote work.

Remote employees must:

* Maintain a quiet, private workspace free from distractions

* Have reliable broadband internet capable of supporting live calls and CRM systems

* Ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 privacy standards while working remotely

 

All required computer hardware and technology are provided.

 

What We’re Looking For

* High school diploma or equivalent, required

* 1–2 years of call center or high-volume phone experience, required

* Strong typing skills and ability to document accurately during live calls, required

* Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously, required

* Excellent verbal communication skills, required

* Strong professional discretion and confidentiality, required

* Healthcare intake, screening, or patient access experience, preferred

* Behavioral health or SUD treatment experience, preferred

* Salesforce CRM experience, preferred

* Insurance verification experience, preferred

* Ability to confidently explain program strengths and guide prospective clients toward care, preferred

* Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (Serenity Lane is a Cannabis THC-free workplace)
