Summary:
The Advancement Operations Analyst supports the College’s fundraising and engagement efforts by combining reporting and data analysis responsibilities with operational support for gift and record processing. The Analyst balances multiple priorities while applying strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to reporting, data integrity, and operational processes. The role requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to identify and resolve data issues while understanding the impact of decisions on reporting, donor records, and financial reconciliation. The position also contributes to continuous improvement efforts through process enhancements, technology adoption, and a commitment to high-quality customer service and data stewardship.
Job responsibilities include:
- Develop, revise, and maintain Power BI reports to ensure data accuracy and meet evolving Advancement reporting needs. Design and implement effective SQL queries to support reporting solutions and fulfill ad hoc data requests.
- Build and monitor daily gift and pledge reporting and data integrity queries to ensure consistent and accurate management of gift, pledge, constituent, and donor data.
- Collaborate with Advancement staff to identify data requirements and deliver reporting and data solutions that support fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and events.
- Help maintain SQL Server database structures and Advancement-specific data schema.
- Assist with the recording and processing of a wide range of gifts, including cash, checks, online transactions, stock, in-kind, and event-related gifts. Support the accurate entry of associated fees, adjustments, reversals, and matching gifts in collaboration with the Gifts & Records team.
- Support the documentation and scanning of gift and pledge records to ensure records are accessible and aligned with Advancement data standards.
- Provide ongoing support to Advancement staff by triaging report and data requests, troubleshooting issues, and offering informal training. Help improve data literacy and understanding of reporting tools, database practices, and data standards.
- Leverage new and existing technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance reporting processes, streamline workflows, and improve data accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and working groups that advance Advancement priorities and operational effectiveness.
- Perform additional responsibilities and participate in projects as assigned to support Advancement operations and strategic initiatives.
The Operations Analyst works independently to manage multiple reporting, data, and operational priorities while meeting competing deadlines. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply data standards, business rules, and established procedures to ensure accurate and compliant Advancement data. Must also be willing to identify and suggest process improvements related to data management, reporting, and Advancement operations.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the skills and abilities necessary to perform the job.
Experience:
One to three years of experience in data analysis, reporting, database administration, advancement services, business operations, or a related field preferred. Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and writing SQL queries is strongly preferred. Experience working with fundraising databases, CRM systems, gift processing, records management, or higher education advancement operations is desirable but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and excellence in data entry, reporting, and documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to learn and effectively use reporting and database technologies such as Power BI and SQL.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and recommend solutions.

Pay range: $24.50 - $28.00
