BAE Systems is looking for an Area Business Leader in our Aftermarket to work in our Fort Wayne, Indiana facility and provide operational input to overall Fort Wayne business strategy. In this role you will:

  • Contribute fully to annual operations planning for the business

  • Operationalize strategy with 3-to-5-year vision, specific to area of work 

  • Understand, evaluate and critique quarterly financial plan inputs 

  • Support customer growth opportunities

  • Develop and maintain effective customer relationships that give credibility to operations

  • Understand and address customer concerns timeously and appropriately 

  • Decide and/or collaborate on decisions regarding outsourcing versus vertical integration direction 

  • Maintain a team that is structured and staffed correctly 

  • Coach and mentor team members 

  • Drive collaboration within team and with other teams

  • Proactively support initiatives relating to design and process compliance and improvements

  • Develop and present effective communication and presentations for customer and business level engagement
  • Support and ensure compliance to FAA Regulations

Required Skills and Education

  • Degree in engineering or manufacturing management, or other discipline with relevant experience leading technical manufacturing and 5-10 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse, multi-discipline teams in a high tempo environment
  • Leadership experience in Aftermarket /  Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO)
  • Expertise applying project management skills and techniques including: stakeholder management, team-building, critical decision making, cost analysis, risk mitigation and opportunity realization
  • Experience and strong knowledge in Lean - Sigma manufacturing principles
  • Strong presentation, data analysis and organizational skills
