Job Description

GM Financial International Operations conducts business in Latin America and China. International Operations offers a wide range of wholesale and retail automotive financing products for dealers and their customers. The strength of the international business lies in its ability to adapt products to meet the unique needs of dealers, consumer preferences, and national requirements in local markets. Operations in Latin America include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

Responsibilities

The commercial lending risk analyst is responsible for analyzing financial statements, credit data and internal information to determine a risk rating and a recommendation to establish a new credit facility or to renew the customer’s current credit lines.  Through a credit review, the analyst will document and submit their assessment for approval to Risk/Operations as required.

Underwriter must be able to work with other departments, office branches, and/or end-customer to effectively complete the assessment and obtain the approval/rejection. Must quickly understand and adhere to established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Underwriting experience with Commercial credit analysis (e.g. financial statements, income statements, cash flow and other financial analysis);
  • Degree level educated in Business Administration, Economy, Engineer or Accountancy;;
  • Fluent in English verbal and written – other languages advantageous;

     

Prefereble:

  • Previous experience in wholesale operations;

 

  • Fluent in English verbal and written – other languages advantageous;

  • Knowledge of financial statements and risk indicators;

  • Ensure understanding of credit policies and procedures established;

  • Highly self-motivated and able to work well under pressure;

  • Analytical mind-set, business results-oriented, ethical and high integrity;

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks; 

  • Good planning and organizational skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ideally knowledge of the car financing sector/market (this is a plus);

  • High analytical capacity and problem solving ability;

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to work with regular spreadsheets, word documents and presentations. 

  • Sense of responsibility;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and team work.
  • Fluent English, both oral and written / Spanish is desirable
