Job Description

Mesta Electronics, Inc. is a U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in the design, development, and production of advanced power quality and power conversion equipment. As part of the global Hammond Power Solutions network, Mesta Electronics is committed to innovative design, superior efficiency, and exceptional reliability across products ranging from advanced harmonic filters to precision induction heating power supplies. With deep expertise in dry-type transformers and related technologies, Mesta Electronics has built a reputation as an industry leader for more than a century.

The Material Analyst is the critical link between supply chain strategy and operational execution in the manufacture of industrial power conversion equipment. This role is responsible for advanced material planning/scheduling, inventory management/analysis, KPI tracking/reporting, material forecasting, and integrity of ERP master data. The Sr. Material Analyst role ensures the timely availability of all required direct material while also maintaining high inventory accuracy to support production. This position owns material planning execution, inventory integrity, cycle counting, inventory reporting, master data integrity, and point‑of‑use replenishment, while proactively managing risks associated with long lead times, supplier constraints, and engineering changes.

Material Planning & Execution
• Develop and maintain material plans aligned to customer demand, production schedules, sales forecasts, and supply chain availability
• Analyze MRP reports/output and translate requirements into actionable purchasing recommendations
• Plan and manage long-lead and constrained components (e.g., IGBTs, SCRs, transformers, DC capacitors, magnetics)
• Identify and resolve material shortages, allocation issues, supplier constraints, and delivery risks
• Support production, engineering, and customer service teams by providing product and material schedules or responding to availability inquiries
• Evaluate demand variability and recommend planning strategies (safety stock, buffering, alternate sourcing)
• Align material availability with production build sequences, test schedules, and shipment milestones
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing to ensure BOM and routing alignment

Inventory Control & Accuracy
• Own the material cycle count program: scheduling, execution oversight, variance investigation, and corrective actions
• Lead root cause analysis for systemic inventory discrepancies (BOM errors, transaction controls, process gaps)
• Drive inventory accuracy, root cause resolution (BOM errors, transaction issues, consumption variances), and required corrective actions
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies impacting MRP outputs, scheduling, and inventory accuracy
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of ERP master data, including item master attributes, MRP planning parameters, and inventory policies (min/max, safety stock).
• Develop and maintain inventory reporting, including:
• On-hand balances & values
• Shortages and shortages aging
• Excess & obsolete (E&O)
• Inventory turns and accuracy metrics
• Support physical inventory counts and audit readiness
• Accountable for performance against key metrics including inventory accuracy, material availability, and excess & obsolete reduction

Point-of-Use (POU) & Replenishment
• Design and manage point-of-use replenishment strategies for production (e.g., kanban, min/max systems)
• Establish and maintain stocking strategies for high-usage and critical components
• Monitor consumption trends and adjust replenishment parameters accordingly
• Ensure material flow to maximize efficient assembly processes and drive inventory turns
• Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control and material planning.

Change Management & NPI Support
• Assess and manage material impact of engineering changes (ECOs/ECNs), including obsolete or replaced components
• Support new product introductions (NPI), ensuring material readiness and supply risk mitigation
• Coordinate disposition strategies for impacted inventory (rework, reuse, or write-off)
• Maintain planning accuracy through BOM, revision, and configuration updates

Qualifications

  •
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Planning, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of material planning or supply chain experience, preferably in industrial electrical equipment or electronics manufacturing
  • Deep practical experience with enterprise planning systems (ERP) such as D365/Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Expertise with inventory management principles and strong understanding of inventory control concepts like ABC analysis, Just-in-Time (JIT), safety stock calculation, and economic order quantity (EOQ), etc.
  • Proven experience with cycle counting and inventory control processes
  • Advanced data analysis expertise in Microsoft Excel, including use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data modeling, and Power BI.
  • Advanced proficiency Excel skills and strong analytical capability
  • Experience managing long-lead and supply-constrained components
  • Familiarity with industrial power electronic components, such as:
    • Power semiconductors (IGBTs, SCRs, semiconductor devices)
    • Magnetics (transformers, inductors, etc…)
    • Capacitors and power assemblies
    • Electromechanical components and enclosures
  • Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail and data integrity
  • Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes
