Position Summary

















The Business Analyst supports the Sourcing and Contracting Department by providing data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, and system support related to supplier contracts, pricing, utilization, compliance, and savings performance. This role enables informed decision‑making through accurate, timely, and actionable insights across Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and locally negotiated contracts.



 



The Business Analyst works closely with the Executive Director of Sourcing & Contracting, Contract Analysts, Contract Administrators, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Finance, and Information Services to ensure contract‑related data is accurate, integrated, and effectively leveraged across enterprise systems. While this role maintains strong ERP and reporting expertise, its primary focus is contract analytics, value realization, and sourcing performance support—not purchasing operations.
















Department Summary

















The Business Analyst supports enterprise analytics and system functionality related to sourcing and contracting activities, including contract utilization, pricing compliance, rebate tracking, benchmarking, and supplier performance metrics.



 



Under the direction of the Executive Director of Sourcing and Contracting, the Business Analyst partners closely with Contract Analysts and Contract Administrators to translate contract data into meaningful insights, dashboards, and reports that support sourcing strategies, negotiations, and compliance monitoring.



















Qualifications






























  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience




  • 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, healthcare supply chain analytics, or ERP reporting




  • Advanced experience with ERP systems (Lawson/Infor preferred) and reporting tools




  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience managing complex datasets




  • Experience supporting sourcing, contracting, pricing, or financial analysis preferred

Responsibilities & Expectations






























  • Contract & Sourcing Analytics

    • Develops and maintains analytics related to GPO and local contract utilization, pricing compliance, and savings realization

    • Supports sourcing initiatives by preparing spend analysis, pricing comparisons, benchmarks, and utilization insights

    • Partners with Contract Analysts to support supplier evaluations, negotiations, and sourcing events with data‑driven insights

    • Tracks and reports contract benefits, rebates, inefficiencies, and compliance trends






  • Reporting & Business Intelligence

    • Designs, builds, and maintains reports and dashboards supporting Sourcing & Contracting leadership

    • Writes and maintains system queries and reports based on business specifications

    • Ensures high quality, integrity, and consistency of data across sourcing, purchasing, and financial systems

    • Supports ad‑hoc reporting requests related to contracts, suppliers, pricing, and utilization






  • ERP & Systems Support

    • Supports integrity of the ERP system (Lawson/Infor) as it relates to contract, pricing, and sourcing data

    • Coordinates with IT and Finance on system enhancements, integrations, and data flows impacting sourcing and contracting

    • Assists with onboarding and integration of new software or tools impacting sourcing analytics or contract data

    • Maintains working knowledge of EDI processes and data integration impacting contract pricing and utilization






  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration

    • Acts as a liaison between Sourcing & Contracting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Finance, and Information Services

    • Supports reconciliation of pricing, contract execution, and Received‑Not‑Invoiced (RNI) balances as they relate to contract compliance

    • Provides analytical support for audit inquiries, compliance reviews, and leadership reporting

    • Serves as a subject matter expert for contract‑related data and analytics questions






  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    • Benchmarks best practices in healthcare sourcing analytics and reporting

    • Identifies opportunities to improve contract visibility, reporting automation, and data usability

    • Enhances analytical capabilities of the Sourcing & Contracting function through advanced reporting and system optimization

    • Participates in special projects and enterprise initiatives as assigned
