Animal Care Technician – Bearded Dragons

Location: Xenia, Ohio 45385

Reports To: Department Supervisor

Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Facility operates 365 days per year. Weekend and holiday work is required. Occasional overtime may be required.

What You'll Do

Provide daily care for reptiles and other animals, including:

• Bearded dragons, geckos, snakes, turtles, frogs, spiders, and more
• Feeder insects and rodents

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, and medicate animals
• Clean and maintain enclosures
• Set up and monitor eggs for incubation
• Observe animals for health or behavior issues
• Maintain accurate records
• Report concerns to supervisors
• Receive and organize supplies
• Assist with other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Interest in working with animals
• Ability to handle reptiles, insects, and feeder rodents
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions
• Availability to work weekends and holidays
• Reliable and punctual
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills

Preferred

• Animal care or veterinary experience
• Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements

• Work in 85°F–90°F temperatures with high humidity
• Stand and perform physical work for an 8-hour shift
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently
• Perform bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks
