    Anticipated Facilities Manager

    START DATE:  On or before August 1, 2026
     

    • Valid Certified Educational Facilities Manager (CEFM) certificate preferred
    • Leadership and supervisory experience in Facilities Management within an educational environment preferred
    • Valid NJ Drivers' License
    • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and support Maintenance and Custodial Staff
    • Experience managing Capital Improvement projects
    • Experience with budget preparation
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong knowledge of maintaining facilities, infrastructure and grounds/fields (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
    • Working knowledge of SchoolDude work order system and Microsoft Word/Excel
    • Demonstrated knowledge of architecture, engineering, school construction, plant operations, maintenance and management, relevant codes and compliance relating to Right to Know and
      AHERA

       

    REPORTS TO:  School Business Administrator/Board Secretary

     

    JOB GOAL:  The Facilities Manager shall be directly responsible to the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the complete daily operation of all school facilities as they relate to providing students and staff with a physical environment that is healthy, safe and efficiently operated.

     

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    Planning and Scheduling

     

    1. Assume responsibility for the comprehensive overall planning and scheduling of maintenance and repair requirements of the district's facilities 

    2. Plan and implements a program of required preventive maintenance for each facility and reports these activities in an annual comprehensive maintenance plan 

    3. Establish appropriate maintenance, grounds keeping, security and custodial requirements for each district facility 

    4. On a regular basis, inspect each school and office building and confers with the principal regarding custodial care 

    5. Ensure the optimum operation of all fire alarms, intercom and security systems 

    6. Select and administers an inventory of maintenance, custodial and grounds supplies and equipment 

    7. Coordinate and inspect the maintenance, improvement and renovation work performed by outside contractors verifying the terms of all such contracts have been fulfilled prior to authorizing final payment 

    8. Examine school buildings and offices on a regular basis to determine needed repairs and maintenance 

    9. Directs the preparation of playing fields, grounds and other necessary facilities for athletics and other school activities 

    10. Coordinate the development and implementation of departmental objectives 

    11. Ensure the continued development of computer-assisted controls 

    12. Provide for the in-service and/or workshop training of departmental personnel 

    13. Interact with the district's architect to ensure the timely completion of all projects 

    14. Supervise outside contractor work related to district maintenance and repair projects 

    15. Interact with the district's Architect and Construction Manager in supervision of construction projects

     

    Environment and Health

     

    1. Develop long and short range maintenance and facilities plans/programs (HVAC Equipment, emergency response plan, energy management plan) to ensure resources are effectively utilized; oversee implementation 

    2. Assume responsibility for the implementation of the district's school integrated pest management policy as required by statute 

    3. Oversee the appropriate use, storage and disposal of hazardous substances

    4. Assume responsibility for Right-to-Know data practices, procedures and record-keeping under the direction of the school business administrator 

    5. Maintain procedural manuals and log books for maintenance tasks and equipment operations in accordance to local, state, and federal guidelines/regulations

     

    Finance and Procurement

     

    1. Interface with the Business Administrator to ensure regulatory compliance and budgetary solvency 

    2. Prepare and administers the custodial, maintenance, and grounds budget, including Repair/Maintenance Building, Repair/Maintenance Supplies, Upkeep Grounds, Custodial Supplies, Operation of Vehicles, Office Supplies, and Repair Maintenance Equipment 

    3. Prepare, monitor and analyze department financial accounts

     

    Building Policy, Regulation, Guidelines and Training

     

    1. Attend training sessions or assigns appropriate staff to obtain necessary instruction

     

    SALARY RANGE:  $95,000 - $105,000
