Job Summary
The Applications Analyst is responsible for the configuration, support, maintenance and security of applications used by our business partners in the Division of Student Affairs. This position will also develop web applications using low code development tools. As a member of the Student Affairs IT Applications team, this individual ensures that all supported applications meet the functional and technical needs of our customers.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$70,000 - $74,000 annual
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
-Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
-90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
-Bachelor’s Degree or higher equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as applications support, hardware/software support, programming, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
3. Demonstrated experience supporting line of business applications and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree.
2. Experience in performing business analysis including how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application requirements.
3. Technical understanding of application architecture to include application servers, software clients, relational databases, interfaces/imports, integrations, and reporting.
4. Demonstrated experience in development of custom scripts and code, such as the development of web applications, data interfaces, using APIs, etc.
5. Experience with low code application development.
6. Experience with database technologies MS SQL and the ability to construct, troubleshoot, and update complex SQL queries.
7. Demonstrated experience writing technical documentation for various audiences including front-line IT support staff, second-tier IT staff, and end users.
8. Excellent customer service skills.
Work Hours
Core work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
