Arborist Field Coordinator

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Arborist Field Coordinator to support a growing tree assessment and consulting practice. This role combines fieldwork and office responsibilities, with approximately 60% of time spent conducting field assessments and 40% dedicated to reporting, documentation, and project coordination.

The ideal candidate is an ISA Certified Arborist with strong tree identification and assessment skills, experience preparing arborist reports, and proficiency in AutoCAD for tree protection plans and related documentation. This individual will play a key role in supporting municipal, development, and land planning projects while contributing to the continued growth of our arboriculture services. This position offers the opportunity to develop into a leadership role overseeing staff, managing projects, and contributing to department growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct tree inventories, assessments, and condition evaluations on a variety of project sites.

  • Perform tree identification and health assessments across multiple species and geographic regions.

  • Prepare arborist reports, inventories, and supporting documentation for municipalities, developers, and project stakeholders.

  • Develop and assist with tree protection plans using AutoCAD.

  • Coordinate field data collection and ensure accuracy of documentation.

  • Collaborate with survey, landscape, and planning teams on project deliverables.

  • Support project management efforts through reporting, scheduling, and client communication.

  • Assist in training and mentoring field staff as the department continues to expand.

  • Maintain compliance with municipal, environmental, and arboricultural standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • ISA Certified Arborist.

  • Minimum 6 years of overall experience in the tree care, arboriculture, or urban forestry industry.

  • At least 2–4 years of professional experience following certification completion.

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Ecology, Arboriculture, or a related field.

  • Strong tree identification and assessment experience.

  • Experience performing tree inventories and preparing arborist reports.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, specifically related to tree protection plans and project documentation.

  • Strong written communication and technical reporting skills.

  • Ability to work independently in both field and office environments.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting municipal review processes.

  • Landscape design experience.

  • Experience leading field crews or coordinating project teams.
