Job Description

TITLE: Assistant Administrator

REPORTS TO: Administrator

Non-Exempt

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of this position is to manage operations in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by the President/CEO and SVP for Operations, to assure that the organization is operating effectively and efficiently. As the Assistant Administrator, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist the Administrator in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the facility, its programs, and activities.
  2. Assist the departments in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures and establish a rapport in and among departments so that each can realize the importance of teamwork.
  3. Assist the Nursing Department and other support personnel in developing and implementing the pre/annual MIR/MR screening program.
  4. Interpret the facility’s policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as necessary or instructed.
  5. Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator concerning the operation of the facility.
  6. Review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the Administrator for their review/approval.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Preferred High School Diploma or its equivalent or enrolled in ongoing education.
  2. Must have an active LPN Licensure.
  3. AA Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration preferred but not required.
