Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
We are seeking a full-time Assistant Caregiver to join our team at The Forum at Tucson in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you'll support residents' daily quality of life through dining assistance, activities, housekeeping, and companionship — while starting your own path toward Arizona Assisted Living Facility Caregiver Certification. This is a great entry point into caregiving for someone who wants hands-on experience, structured training, and a clear next step into a certified Caregiver role.
Why Us?
At The Forum at Tucson, we believe great care starts with a great team. We invest in our staff's growth and offer an opportunity to progress to a Certified Caregiver position— because we'd rather promote from within than hire from outside. You'll work alongside experienced, certified caregivers who take training seriously and treat residents like family.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay (Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.50)
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- Company-sponsored training, development, and tuition reimbursement — including support toward your AZ Caregiver Certification
- Employee meal program
- Additional voluntary benefits
- Priority consideration for transfer into a Caregiver position upon certification
(Benefit eligibility may vary based on employment status and hours worked.)
Your Role
As an Assistant Caregiver, you'll support residents and our certified care team across several areas of daily life:
- Assist with dining service — setting up/breaking down the dining room, serving meals, and providing table-side help during meals
- Support the Activities team with setup, resident engagement, and outings/social events
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties in resident apartments and common areas
- Provide general supervision of residents in common areas and respond calmly to their needs, redirecting to certified staff when hands-on care is required
- Observe and assist with personal care tasks (such as bathing, dressing, or grooming) only as a supervised learning experience, and only when a certified caregiver is physically present and in direct view — you will not perform personal care independently
- Report any changes in a resident's mood, condition, or behavior to the supervising caregiver or manager
- Follow infection control, hand hygiene, and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card, or application pending
- Able to provide documentation of freedom from infectious tuberculosis
- Able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or National Safety Council) required before starting work
- A genuine, compassionate approach to working with older adults
