Job Description

SUMMARY

The Assistant Controller oversees the Company’s accounting practices and is responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies and U.S. GAAP. Responsible areas include AP/AR, CAPEX, Cash, tax filings, cost accounting, reporting and analysis. Works with executives and directors to enhance Company’s overall financial performance and business opportunities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Accounting

    Responsible for overseeing the day to day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP. Actively seeks to improve efficiency and streamline processes. Participates in determining the Company’s standard billing rates and analysis. Oversees month end close process and proper revenue recognition.

  • Tax Filing

    Implements financial and tax strategies to enhance Company’s financial performance and business opportunities. Files monthly use tax returns.

  • Cost Accounting

    Responsible for program cost tracking and reporting, including supporting program managers in budget and profitability analysis. Oversees the program purchasing and approves high value

    purchase orders.

  • Reporting and Analysis

    Supports timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President, Director of Operations, and the Board of Directors in performing their responsibilities.

  • Ongoing Operational Duties

    Responsible for overseeing material and vendor selection, and capital equipment purchases.

  • Contract Management

    Support negotiation and administration of Customer Contracts, from proposal development through CDRLs submittal.

  • Coaching/Mentoring

    Actively leads in coaching and mentoring

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
  • Potential for 4 direct reports
  • 5 > years in corporate setting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and increase shareholder value

    in a fast-paced environment
