Position Summary:

Provides leadership over security training systems, employee development, regulatory compliance, certification tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a highly trained, safety-focused, and compliant security team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive training program for all security personnel.
  • Coordinate onboarding training for new hires and annual refresher training for existing staff.
  • Ensure all certifications including CPR/AED and role-specific credentials remain current.
  • Maintain complete training records and ensure documentation is submitted to Human Resources files.
  • Track expirations, recurring requirements, and upcoming compliance deadlines.
  • Conduct policy, procedure, and documentation audits to ensure compliance.
  • Support OSHA, safety, and agency regulatory training requirements.
  • Analyze incidents, performance trends, and deficiencies to create corrective retraining plans.
  • Develop leadership training for supervisors and high-potential staff.
  • Ensure consistent instruction in customer service, de-escalation, professionalism, and mission standards.

Essential Responsibilities – Other:

  • Recommend new training methods, systems, and development strategies.
  • Create succession planning and internal promotion readiness programs.
  • Prepare compliance dashboards and training status reports for leadership.
  • Coordinate external instructors, vendors, and certifications as needed.
  • Protect confidential information, company property, and electronic data.
  • Other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build systems, calendars, and compliance processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and security best practices.
  • Excellent written communication and reporting ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in criminal justice, education, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five years experience in security, compliance, training, or related leadership role.
  • Experience developing training curriculum and compliance systems.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and current Nevada required insurance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to hear, see, read and communicate verbally and in writing with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work throughout campus and off-site locations.
  • Ability to continuously sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs as needed.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to environmental noises, heat, cold, and changing conditions.
